In Malabo, Equatorial Guinea – on the 29th and 30th of August 2017, AOSTI, the African Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex, United Kingdom, organised a joint workshop on the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of the continental Science, Technology, and Innovation Strategy for Africa 2024 (STISA-2024) implementation.

The Science Communication and Public Learning and Understanding of Science (PLUS) Faculty are a major pillar and key strand in the programme content of the 2nd African Conference on EID and Biosecurity, co-organised by African Gong.
Dr. Rasekoala attended the Conference as a Panel Speaker for the Pre-Conference Workshop on the 14th June, entitled, ‘Social Inclusion and Diversity – from Goodwill to Institutional Change’.
This was the second edition of the annual cycle of the Caminhos do Conhecimento/Streams of Knowledge conferences, organized in honour of Prof. José Mariano Gago, on his birthday. Other than recalling the national and international legacy of Mariano Gago, 2017’s conference also instituted the celebration of the National Scientists Day, thus designated by the Portuguese Parliament to commemorate and acknowledge the historic, pertinent and innovative role of the scientific community, for the advancement of knowledge and, therefore, for the progress and welfare of society.
Dr. Rasekoala was invited as a Panel Speaker, by the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation (CSTMC), which co-organised the panel entitled ‘Women, Science, Engineering & Communication’
Dr. Rasekoala was invited as a Keynote Speaker to address the All-Staff Meeting of the CSTMC (with over 200 members), to contribute to the CSTMC’s proposed Women in STEM programme, and delivered a presentation entitled, ‘Inclusive Science Communication: A key driver of Gender Equality in STEM
Dr. Rasekoala has contributed an African Gong blog entitled“ISCSMD 2016: A Global Platform for Reflection, Transformation, and Mainstreaming the SDGs in Science Centres and Science Museums”
